Derby WwTW

The Derby Energy from Waste Project,at Sinfin, a suburb of Derby was delivered by RRS – a joint venture between waste management firm Renewi and construction company Interserve Group plc – to build, operate and maintain the energy-from-waste (EfW) facility, located in Sinfin, a suburb of Derby.

Enisca had previously delivered a similar MEICA design and installation scheme for Renewi at their Wakefield Energy from Waste Plant.

This scheme is a Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) facility with an on-site gasification plant. The new facility is expected to divert up to 98% of residents’ residual waste, while also generating enough electricity to power 14,000 homes.

Enisca’s scope of works included design, provision, installation, and testing of:

  • Process cabling and containment for all site wide process related equipment.
  • Building Services associated with the Gatehouse/Weighbridges, Visitor Centre, Main Process Building, Offices & Welfare Facility, Fire Water Pump House
  • Site wide office data network, external lighting, fibre optic network, telecommunication network, hearing augmentation system, door access system
  • Main Process Building Ventilation system, cabling and containment
  • Supply & Installation of 11KV RMU
  • HV Switchgear and transformers commissioning & HV SAP Attendance
  • SIL Safety Critical Installation + Certification
