Senior Design Engineer

The Enisca Group are a multi-disciplinary Design, Engineering and Construction business operating in the water utility sector.

As a Senior Design Engineer you will play a pivotal role in the management of the design, procurement, and delivery of M&E projects by working with suppliers and providing leadership and guidance to the project delivery team to ensure projects are set up and delivered efficiently and within budget.

Key Duties:

• Oversee and assist the design and procurement activities for M&E projects and to assist in their planning.
• Analyse and understand client specification and ensure projects are designed to meet their requirements in an efficient and safe manner.
• Participate in client meetings and co-ordinate with third party contractors.
• Assist in the identification and pre-qualification of subcontractors.
• Compile specifications for the purchase of materials and equipment including bid pricing schedules from scope of work.
• Assist with bid analysis and award recommendations.
• Place orders for the procurement of plant and materials and ensure they are within budget.
• Assist in the preparation of project budgets and to track and report on costs as required.
• Ensure all design and procurement activities are carried out in line with the requirements of the company’s IMS procedures and identify opportunities for improvements to be made.
• Co-ordinate the contractual arrangements of a project and ensure that they are not compromised due to design or procurement issues. Provide guidance and advice to site, construction, and remote delivery teams at all stages.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Essential Requirements

• Engineering qualification
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
• Analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to diagnose problems, identify and recommend solutions.
• Excellent communication skills
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work on own initiative, as part of a team and independently.
• Ability to travel, plan, manage and prioritise own workload.

Desirable Requirements

• Previous experience working in the water industry.
